Vega Adventures is a family run company based on Scotland’s beautiful west coast of Scotland, providing flexible, and informal skippered sailing experiences for both novice and enthusiast alike.

This year we will be based in the beautiful and sheltered port of Tarbert on Loch Fyne in Argyll & Bute. Tarbert has everything a seafarer requires for either end of a voyage - shops, cafes, pubs, a number of exceptional restaurants and accommodation to suit any budget from a small b&b to a luxurious castle, most within a five minute walk from our berth in the well – appointed harbour.

The area is rich in the culture and heritage of ancient peoples. According to legend, the Vikings hauled their long ships overland from the east loch to the west in order to surprise their enemies! Further up the coast, just west of Lochgilphead, lies the settlement of Kilmartin which was home to the ancient Kingdom of Dalriada. This valley contains the most extensive set of Neolithic burial chambers and standing stones in Europe, including the hillfort of Dunaad where kings were crowned by placing their feet in an impression upon a still extant rock.
